Weather in Romania: Over the last two weeks there have been very cold in Romania – especially in the east. In connection with the cold weather it was snowing heavily – see attached images (two from Videle and two from Mizil) – so the crops were well covered down and protected, since the frost began. The last day it has snowed again heavily – approx. ½ meters of snow. In the west there is something milder (last Wednesday, in Racasdia around freezing point in the morning – in Bucharest, there was -210 C Thursday morning), but also in the east there is a good snow cover.
Winter Rape – may give rise to some concern. There was a very dry autumn, which gave it very difficult conditions to start, so there may be reason to fear that it is also in the east will require that we in some of the areas, seed with another crop, the rape the land. We ready to sow sunflowers here. Autumn desiccated rape is in fact a general picture in Eastern Europe, so the prices of oilseeds could be attractive this season .
Sales of crops – has taken a little more speed here the last four weeks. Previously, we have sold wheat to feed approx. DKK 111 /Hkg, and have so continued partial sale of the corn and wheat at prices ranging from DKK 120 to 130 / Hkg. We then have in stock approx. 5,400 tonnes of maize and 4,600 tons of wheat
