Maize yield:
In Mizil has been a disappointing result: 4.2 tons / HA on the 149 HA. As previously mentioned, there are sown late in very wet conditions, and there are significant areas of the field which have drowned – visible after harvest. Harvested and stored, however, a neat and dry crop.
In Videle showed the first harvested 138 HA maize 6 tons/HA but after the harvest of a total of 280 HA is completed the result is 5 tons / HA. The corn is sown in 5 stages as it was possible due to water – and thus sown very late and wet. The corn was in fact attacked by insects (Diabrotica virgifera) which we managed to control really well, with two times spraying.
In Oravita are some of the corn still pretty green, so the harvest has just begun.
Sunflower harvest:
In Mizil’s sunflower harvest about half way in the first sown area.
In Videle’s sunflower harvest just started.
In Oravita’s sunflower harvest just finished with a result of 2.2 tons / HA – really neat and dry crop.
Autumn Work:
At all three sites is being carried large drain work with thorough cleaning of existing rendering ditches and the establishment of new, and also subsoil cultivation for water drainage. There are added increased capacity in this area in the form of an additional torpedo subsoiler for depth drainage to the ditches, as we have good experience, as well as three conventional depth cultivators.
Wheat sowing is well underway. It is again somewhat humid here in the fall, but it has been shown that the various harrow combinations we now possess, and the general capabilities we have on machinery means, that we are able to handle this challenge . So sowing progressing well with good seedbed.
In Mizil is on 10 October sown 500 HA wheat of 1,313 HA.
In Videle sown 460 HA wheat out of a total of 1,116 HA. In Oravita is sown halves of the 1,982 HA wheat.
Moreover, there are sown the land with eligible for crops – last year with this obligation.
There are spread calcium : in Videle 1,500 tons and 4,000 tons in Oravita.
As part of our action plan for increased yields, has invested in new sparyers, of which two are put into service on Mizil and Videle site. There is great satisfaction of both managers, concerning spray’s function, introduction / training in this respect and capacity. There is confidence in a positive effect from on-time performed work.
Sales:
All rape is sold at a price of 230 DKK / HKG net price ex farm.
Has recently signed a contract for the sale of sunflower at a price of 199 DKK / HKG net price ex farm.
In line with our strategy we have not yet sold wheat and barley, as there is a very strong buyer’s market post-harvest because of lack of storage capacity, like the vast majority of producers want / need to sell immediately after harvest. We sense this year in our dialogue with our buyers network, there is good reason to believe in an up trend in prices when we get some further in time. In any case, we are convinced that grain with relatively good quality parameters can rise in price.
Sincerely,
Richardt Duus, CEO / CFO
