Dear Shareholders,
The 2026 harvest has now been completed and, as reported in August, the three winter crops have performed well, all delivering yields above budget.
The same applies to sunflower, which has also delivered slightly above budget. These four crops account for approximately 83% of the total area and are therefore very important to our overall result.
All rapeseed and soybeans, as well as a large proportion of the sunflower crop, have been sold at prices comfortably above budget.
As reported in August, due to a lack of storage capacity, we had to sell some barley and wheat at prices below budget. However, prices for these two crops have improved over the past couple of weeks, and we have therefore entered into a few contracts.
| Crop | Area (ha) | Budget | Harvested |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winter barley | 1,185 | 5.5 t/ha | 5.8 t/ha |
| Winter rapeseed | 2,802 | 2,75 t/ha | 3,50 t/ha |
| Winter wheat | 4,602 | 5.5 t/ha | 6.3 t/ha |
| Sunflower | 2,958 | 2.5 t/ha | 2.6 t/ha |
| Soybeans | 341 | 1.5 t/ha | 1.1 t/ha |
| Maize | 655 | 5.0 t/ha | 4.6 t/ha |
| Sorghum | 687 | 5.0 t/ha | 3.8 t/ha |
As shown in the yield table, soybeans and maize are below budget. Both crops will therefore be removed from the crop plan in the west (Oravita) and replaced by winter barley and additional sunflower acreage.
Maize will instead be grown in the east on fields where we expect to have access to irrigation. Maize is the crop that benefits most from irrigation.
Following the acquisition of Diagra, where we have access to water and the possibility of irrigating the fields, we have hired an employee with experience in irrigation.
We will provide further information later on how much irrigation capacity we expect to have ready for the 2027 season, once we have a complete overview.
Sorghum is typically used as a reserve crop, as it can be sown relatively late, requires relatively few inputs and is inexpensive to grow.
Sowing is now in full swing. Unfortunately, some of the rapeseed fields have received too little water, and it will therefore be necessary to reseed parts of the area. The extent of the reseeding will be determined this week.
Reseeding rapeseed is not unusual, but in 2026 we were very fortunate, as virtually all of the rapeseed was successfully established.
In connection with the sale of Oravita, we have distributed the attached teaser, which has generated interest and resulted in several enquiries. However, there is currently nothing concrete to report.
At the online shareholders’ meeting on Friday, 11 December at 10:00 a.m., we will provide an update on the sales process together with an update on the company’s other operations.
The newsletter has also been uploaded to the website under “Shareholder Login”. Please also remember to keep up to date via “News” and LinkedIn, where we regularly post updates.
Have a great day, everyone ☘️🌱
Kind regards
